I would like to express my gratitude to the team at Sports Hydrant for its professional management of two key events at Parliament House during national Hearing Awareness Week in August. Sports Hydrant coordinated ‘silent’ netball and touch football games that provided a unique opportunity for federal parliamentarians to gain a real life experience of their Deaf and Hearing impaired constituents. The ‘silent’ games were a highlight of the national Week and made a strong contribution to creating awareness of hearing health among the nation’s leaders.

I was overwhelmed by the inspirational power I experienced during the Parliamentary Sports Festival Dinner. The wide diversity and sincere engagement of participants were fantastic testimony to the importance that equal opportunity in sport has in our society. The recognition of our work through Football United will have and already has had tremendous impact for us as an organization, and to the recognition that the impact of our program goes well beyond the physical, to promote individual and societal benefits. We are honoured and grateful, and hope to see the Festival and celebrations continue for years to come.

It was an awesome day at the netball. A great game, lots of laughing, competitiveness and a superstar umpire. I'm looking forward to next years' Sports Carnival and would definitely participate again.
